THE ACREAGE/INDIAN TRAIL

The Acreage is a sprawling rural residential community north and west of Royal Palm Beach consisting of more than 17,000 lots each about 1.25 acres. Its 45,000 residents value open spaces and the ambiance of equestrian and rural lifestyles. The community is home to four elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. The Acreage/Loxahatchee area is governed by the Indian Trail Improvement District, which maintains 500 miles of canals, provides roads and drainage services, and operates a network of nine parks, including the 40-acre Acreage Community Park and the seven-acre Hamlin Equestrian Park. The Indian Trail Improvement District Board of Supervisors is made up of five popularly elected supervisors who in turn hire a district manager to run day-to-day affairs.
